Egyptian club side Zamalek (the White Knights) will entertain their Moroccan counterparts MAS Fes at the Cairo Military Academy Stadium this Sunday in the 2012 Orange CAF Champions League eighth finals second leg. Zamalek enter the home game with a 2-0 lead from the first leg played a fortnight ago. Former Tottenham Hotspurs, Olympique Marseille and Ajax Amsterdam striker Ahmed Housam "Mido" who returned to his childhood club Zamalek told Cafonline.com that he believes Zamalek will qualify for the next stage of competition.

Cafonline.com: How do you see Sunday game against MAS Fes?

Mido: It's not going to be an easy one. Many people think it's a done deal after we managed an away 2-0 victory, but that's not true. We haven't won anything yet. Zamalek players have got to remain focused on the game to achieve victory and guarantee a group stage qualification.

Cafonline.com: What do you think of your opponents MAS Fes?

Mido: MAS is a good team and a tough one to play against. They have nothing to lose in this match, thus we have to expect a difficult game. They will start the game without any pressures, so we have to be aware of them.

Cafonline.com: Being one of the most experienced players in the team, what's your message for your teammates?

Mido: I warn them not to take the match lightly. Yes we had an amazing result from the away leg but as I said nothing is won yet. We have to score as early as possible to put the game beyond our opponents. Our players should forget all about the first leg and take this game as a new one and a crucial match that will determine qualification to the group stage.

Cafonline.com: The game will take place behind closed doors. Do you think this will affect your team?

Mido: I hope not. We're getting used to that, as we played the previous two rounds under the same circumstances. We have to cope with the current situation, though we'll definitely miss our supporters' presence.

Cafonline.com: You've been away for a long period through injury. Are you ready for the Sunday game?

Mido: I've been following a special training program to regain my full physical fitness. I hope to take part in the game but this is unfortunately not possible. Manager Hassan Shehata chose not to recall me for that game as I've been away for a long time and I understand his decision and respect it. The most important point now is for Zamalek to win and take part in the groups stage.

Despite achieving one of the best result from the first leg matches of the 2012 Orange CAF Champions League, Cairo outfit Zamalek remains cautious going into the return leg at home to visiting MAS Fes of Morocco this weekend at the Military Academy Stadium in Cairo. The White Knights takey a 2-0 lead from the first leg and are favorites to reach the groups stage for the first time since 2008, but Zamalek coach Ismail Youssef warned his charges of underestimating their opponents. Youssef told Cafonline.com that the pressure will be on his team and not their visitors.

Cafonline.com: You look favorites to qualify for the groups stage going into Sunday’s match. Is that how you see it?

Youssef: Nothing has been decided yet. There are still 90 minutes of football to be played and anything can happen. In football you should never make the mistake of underestimating your opponents or else you would be punished for that.

Cafonline.com: Why do you sound overcautious ahead of the return leg?

Youssef: In Zamalek we had an unpleasant memory in similar circumstances. That was back in 2006 when we faced Moroccan Raja Casablanca in the Arab Champions League. After achieving an away 2-0 victory everyone was relaxed and we thought we already qualified to the next round, just to be awakened by a shocking 3-0 defeat at home and we were out. We learnt well from that lesson and that's why we will go into Sunday’s game with one thing in mind, to forget all about the first match win and go for a win that will see us qualifying to the groups stage.

Cafonline.com: Are all your players fit and ready for the game?

Youssef: Not all of them. We will miss Ahmed Housam "Mido" and Ahmed Samir through injury. Also Benin import Razak Omotoyossi is suspended. But we'll have our first choice goalkeeper Abdel Wahed ElSayed back from suspension, and also defender Hany Said is fit after a long absence. The players are ready and focused for this match.

Cafonline.com: How are your preparations for the game going?

Youssef: As you know we are missing competitive games because the domestic league was cancelled, but we managed to arrange for a friendly match and went on with our regular training sessions. Manager Hassan Shehata has trained the players on the game tactics and we hope that would apply on pitch.

Cafonline.com: MAS is under pressure to score and win in Cairo, does this situation suit you best.

Youssef: On the contrary the pressure will be more on us as we need to defend our lead. MAS has nothing to lose and will attack from the first whistle, and this will put us under pressure. But we will make sure to field our best available squad as everything is still to be decided on pitch. We respect MAS Fes a lot, but we'll do our best to qualify to the groups stage.

Nigeria club side Sunshine entertains Djoliba FC of Mali in this weekend’s return leg of the 1/8th finals of the Orange CAF Champions league looking to seal a home win and a place in the groups’ stage of the competition. Sunshine managed to hold the Malians to a 1-1 draw two weeks ago in Bamako and the Nigerian team’s captain, Oboabona Godfrey told Cafonline.com ahead of the weekend match in Ijebe Ode that Sunshine is well motivated and ready for victory.
CAFONLINE.COM: How are the preparations going for the match against Djoliba going?
GODFREY: We thank God so far, a lot of training has been going on in preparation for this match. We are on course.
CAFONLINE.COM: How much do you and your colleagues want to win this match?
GODFERY: We are well motivated. Management has paid up to date all outstanding allowances and match bonuses and our sports loving governor has promised us cash gifts if we win this match. We are also playing for ourselves to put our name on the map of the continent as far as football is concerned. It is a great motivation for us.
CAFONLINE.COM: How are you managing to combine club engagement and national team assignment?
GODFERY: I am presently at the national camp preparing for an international match however the coach knows how important this weekend’s match is against the Malians and they are prepared to release me and my colleague Izu Azuka to go and help our club. It’s been challenging but rich in experience and has helped us in stepping up our game at club level.
CAFONLINE.COM: You forced a 1-1 draw away in Mali. Do you think the Malians are capable of causing an upset here in Ijebu Ode?
GODFERY: No, by the special grace of God they will not but we are not writing them off because they are a solid side with creative midfielders. We will do our best to win the match and we would like to play in the groups’ stage and will definitely fight hard for that to happen. We are hoping to qualify at the weekend.

Nigerian club side Sunshine will not be banking a a 1-1 draw the secured away to Djoliba of Mali when the two teams meet in this weekend’s return fixture of the Orange CAF Champions League 1/8th round encounter. According to Sunshine coach Gbenga Ogunbote the home match calls for some serious attention to detail. Coach Ogun bote was speaking to Cafonline.com ahead of the match at the weekend.

CAFONLINE.COM: How prepared are your boys for this weekend’s match?

GBENGA: Preparations are in top gear. The boys are aware of the task ahead and they have been doing well in training. The Malians are a solid side so we are not getting carried away by the result from the first leg. We will approach this match with all seriousness and focus needed to achieve victory.

CAFONLINE.COM: How do you rate the Malian team after the first leg experience?

GBENGA: As I said before they are a very good team and we have a lot of respect for them but here on our soil and before our fans, we want to make sure we win.

CAFONLINE.COM: What is your position with regards to injuries and suspensions?

GBENGA: Nothing too serious we cannot handle besides we have replacement for those not available . Although two of my players are in the national camp, we are expecting them to join us in camp any moment from now.

CAFONLINE.COM: Do you think the experiences gathered from last seasons confederation cup has helped you to progress in this championship?

GBENGA: Yes it has helped us. Last season was our debut season in the continent and we learnt a lot from the experience. Although we have tougher teams in this championsip. We will take it game by game.

CAFONLINE.COM: What do you have to say to supporting Nigerians?

GBENGA:We do not want to disappoint Nigerians and our fans.We implore them to come in numbers to support us. Our sister club Dolphins is out of the competition already leaving only us to fly the country’s flag so we need all the encouragement and support.

Michel Decastel, Swiss born coach of the African defending champion Esperance Tunis is little worried before their return match against the Dynamos of Zimbabwe at Harare’s Rufaro Stadium. In spite of holding a 6-0 win from the first leg he told Cafonline.com that his players’ journey to Harare on Sunday will not be for tourism.
Cafonline.com: Don’t you think your team will relax a bit in the return match taking into account the 6-0 score in the away match?
Michel Decastel: No, no risk. We are going to Harare to get qualification, not for tourism. It is important for the reigning champion to win there. The trip will be long and tiring but I repeat that we will not just play a gala match.
Cafonline.com: The Dynamos will naturally react like a wounded animal…
Michel Decastel: Without doubt. The Zimbabweans will want to defend their chance and make up for the goals in front of their supporters. We know we have partially assured our qualification in Tunis. Besides, this advantage permitted us to recuperate within the week but we have to be serious and remain focused from start to end, especially as the heat and synthetic pitch will hamper our game.
Cafonline.com: What kind of opponent are you facing on Sunday at the Rufaro Stadium?
Michel Decastel: We will be facing a more determined team than in the away match. They will provoke us as they did two weeks ago. We have to avoid unnecessary cards and conceding goals in the first half. We also have to be cautious of surprise. In spite of our six goals lead, we still have to be vigilant.
Cafonline.com: That does not stop you from fielding in a less incisive attack line?
Michel Decastel: That is the luxury of a team with a six – goal advantage. Khalil Chammam added to that failure. He incurred an injury and is observing 15 days rest. Youssef Msakni will be absent for having received two yellow cards. Meanwhile, the young attacker Driss Mhirsi has been retained in the U-20 squad that will play the AFCON eliminatories match against Libya. However, we have reliable solutions.
